A carved solid spruce top combines with a carved solid maple back and solid maple sides, creating a lightweight yet strong instrument with a warm, rich sound. These traditional tonewoods give the cello a responsive foundation for regular practice, helping you explore dynamics and develop greater control over your sound. Inlaid purfling adds the finishing touch to the body, completing its refined appearance.

Traditional ebony fittings provide lasting comfort

The Student Plus Cello features an ebony fingerboard and tailpiece, bringing the natural strength and smooth feel of this premium hardwood to key areas of the instrument. The fingerboard gives your fingers a comfortable surface for moving between notes and positions, while its hard-wearing construction is well suited to regular practice. The ebony tailpiece offers similarly dependable durability, while the maple neck and fitted bridge complete the practical, traditional setup.

Fine tuners simplify accurate tuning

Keeping your cello in tune is an important part of learning, so the Student Plus uses a tailpiece with four integrated fine tuners. These give you precise control over each string, making small pitch adjustments easier. Steel-core strings provide a quick response, stable pitch, and a long working life, all useful qualities when you’re practising regularly. Coloured silk wrappings also make the strings easier to identify and add friction around the tuning pegs. Together, these features help make everyday tuning quicker for beginners.

Everything you need for lessons and practice

Your cello comes with a hardwood bow fitted with horsehair and rosin, giving you the essentials to start playing. The included hard foam case helps protect your instrument during storage and transport without adding unnecessary weight. Its side handle and shoulder straps give you flexible carrying options for lessons and performances, while a dedicated sheet music pocket keeps your music and accessories conveniently together while you’re on the move.
