What separates Brute from other virtual drummers or sample libraries is the purpose-designed recording setup that was used. Comprised of three sets of microphone sets, Brute delivers a flexible range of tones for your productions. Creating a drum library that cuts above the dense layer of distorted guitars meant that different aspects of the drum sound would need to be isolated to give you full control. Virtual Drummer Brute comes with three unique microphone sets including Click/Smack, Grit/Dirt and Clean/Nice.

Click/Smack was recorded using vintage 421-style microphones and processed using world-class hardware outboard gear to cut through dense mixes. This is a perfect solution when working with compositions with lots of instrumentation layers to cut through and be heard, adding the energy and groove to your track. Grit/Dirt lets you introduce the character to your signal. Organic resonances and sustain add a natural and authentic sound to enhance the warmth and realism. Ideal for slower material that requires more 'vibe' and character, the added sustain can help to fill the gaps between notes. Clean/Nice introduces no colouration at all for a pristine sound that presents the drums exactly as heard in the room. Using modern, low-distortion microphones, the Clean/Nice setting is ideal for processing further with third-party plug-ins to achieve your desired sound.

Composed with specific styles in mind, each of the five kits within Brute is meticulously tuned and selected to offer a tremendous level of tonal flexibility. The Dark kit is a fat, low-tuned kit that's ideal for slower music with space between each hit to let your drums bloom. Dirty embraces the gritty and unhinged traits of alternative music. Tight and punchy, Dirty is ideal for punk and other double-time bops! Tight offers a cross-over friendly kit, employing a tight piccolo snare drum that's perfect for aggressive fills and blasts. Noble channels the sound of early '00s radio-ready rock tones. Full-bodied and refined, Noble is the perfect midground. Prime takes you to the big stage with stadium-friendly tones. Balanced and punchy, Prime is the go-to for mainstream rock anthems.

Encompassed within the phrases included with UJAM Brute, there are independent sections for common song structures, including intros, verses, choruses, fills and endings to help you quickly identify the right groove to build the foundation of your song.

Easily tweakable FX let you add compression, saturation, ambience and reverb to individual parts of the kit or the entire drum bus for a more global impact on your sound design. For experienced sound designers, and mixing and mastering engineers, Brute offers multi-out capabilities, letting you process your tracks independently using third party plug-ins and processors to get the exact sound you're after. Conversely, less proficient engineers and producers can take advantage of one of the six onboard mix presets, curated by industry professionals to add extra punch, weight and sheen to your drums with one click.
