Explore a new form of synthesis. Qu-Bit Scanned Organic Wavetable VCO is a new, experimental unit for your Modular Eurorack case. Using Scanned Synthesis – conceived by the father of computer music, Max Mathews – the Scanned Organic Wavetable VCO brings unprecedented power and warmth to your synthesizer.
Dynamically generated wavetables are tied together on a virtual string. Using physical properties like mass and stiffness to affect the movement of this virtual string, the Scanned Organic VCO creates new electronic sounds. Providing unique timbral possibilities to your modular rack, rather than trying to copy real live musical movements. This is not emulation, this is creation.
Qu-Bit have provided you with the first hardware implementation of Scanned Synthesis. Allowing you to bring a rich timbre to your Eurorack. Not quite wavetable oscillation, not quite physical modelling, Scanned’s sound sits somewhere in the middle. The Scanned Synthesis model means that the virtual strings can be excited or ‘plucked’ using the VCO’s excite button. Use the hammer section of the board to morph the sound into different oscillator shapes, control the power of the oscillator precisely with the strength knob. This is the first of its kind and will bring unique flavour to your modular rack.
Only taking up 16hp of space in your Eurorack set-up, Qu-Bit Scanned Organic Wavetable VCO is a small but powerful VCO. Just slot it in, power it up and get patching.
