Mix quickly with analog-style control
The L12next is designed to keep your hands on the mix. You get 60 mm faders for level control, plus three encoder knobs on each channel that work like a compact channel strip. Those knobs can be assigned to high, mid, and low EQ, and with a simple switch you can instead control gain, pan, and sends.
The LiveTrak L12next is a practical approach that suits live performance, where you often need to make adjustments in seconds. LED meters show volume levels and encoder positions, and the Fader Position button helps you check saved fader positions when recalling scenes.
Capture clean sources with upgraded preamps
Strong inputs make everything easier later, and the L12next’s upgraded preamps are built for clean capture. They provide up to +70 dB of gain, with low noise performance rated at –128 dBu EIN. That gives you headroom for quiet vocal mics as well as plenty of control for louder sources.
Input flexibility is baked in, with Hi-Z available on channels 1 and 2 for electric guitar or bass, PAD for hotter signals, and +48 V phantom power for condenser microphones. Combo inputs support XLR or quarter-inch connections, and channels 9/10 and 11/12 offer TS line connectivity for keyboards and other audio devices.
Record full sessions with practical take tools
The recorder side of the L12next is geared for real sessions, not just quick demos. It can capture up to 12 individual tracks at 24-bit/96 kHz, plus a stereo mix, so you can edit and balance later with proper separation. The OLED screen streamlines recording controls and setup, while quick access features cover mixdown, overdub, and autopunch.
Overdub Mode helps you layer parts without rebuilding a project, and Auto Punch In/Out makes it easier to replace a section cleanly. There is also a File Select button, which lets you load additional tracks to expand your mix across multiple recordings. For the final print, the master channel can capture in 32-bit float for pristine, clip-free sound, with a master compressor available to add warm, natural compression to the overall mix.
Give everyone the right monitor mix and connect to modern rigs
Monitoring can make or break a performance, and the L12next gives you five independent monitor outputs for personal mixes. Each output can run a stereo mix for headphones and in-ears, or a mono mix for stage monitors, so you can match the setup to the gig.
The fifth monitor output is aimed at the engineer, making it easier to check the master mix and each custom mix quickly. A built-in talkback mic supports clear communication between the desk and the performers, which is handy during rehearsals and punch-ins. For repeatable setups, you can store up to 10 scene memories that save fader positions, EQ, pan, mutes, and effects, then recall them instantly.
Integrated USB interface
The L12next also works as a 14-in/4-out USB audio interface for Mac, Windows, and mobile, supporting 32-bit float/96 kHz recording and playback, with the option to record to computer and SD card simultaneously, sync tracks, and control your DAW. It also integrates with streaming software for podcasts, performances, and online broadcasts.
