The CSP 295GP offers Yamaha’s GrandTouch keyboard with real counterweights and graded hammers across all 88 keys, delivering a playing experience that closely reflects the feel of a premium acoustic grand piano. Each key is carefully weighted to mirror the natural resistance of an acoustic action, with heavier touch in the bass register gradually becoming lighter towards the treble. This familiar weighting helps build proper technique and gives you greater confidence when transitioning between digital and acoustic instruments.
Beyond the graded feel, the GrandTouch action is designed to provide exceptional control across a wide dynamic range. The inclusion of counterweights helps balance the keys during delicate passages, making it easier to play softly without sacrificing precision. Fast repetitions, intricate runs, and expressive phrasing all feel more natural thanks to the action's responsive return and consistent key movement. Whether you're practising advanced repertoire, refining your touch, or simply enjoying a more authentic piano experience, the GrandTouch keyboard provides detailed feedback that allows every nuance of your playing to come through with greater accuracy and expression.
The CSP 295GP comes with a library of 919 high-quality instrument voices and 47 drum and sound effects kits. These include not just grand piano tones, but also electric pianos, organs, strings, brass, synths, guitars and more. Whether you're playing classical pieces, layering ambient textures or experimenting with modern styles, there's a wide palette to work with.
It includes flagship samples from both the Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand pianos, captured with binaural sampling for an immersive headphone experience. You’ll also find 525 accompaniment styles that add dynamic rhythm and backing arrangements across genres like pop, jazz, Latin, rock and classical. These real-time accompaniments respond to your chords and rhythms, helping you build full band arrangements while you play.
The sound engine also supports Virtual Resonance Modelling and Grand Expression Modelling, adding nuanced detail and tonal variety as you play. Whether you’re playing solo or arranging complex pieces, this sound library offers the depth and flexibility to suit every level and style.
The CSP 295GP features a powerful multi-speaker setup designed to recreate the acoustic presence of a grand piano. It includes six individual speakers: two 16 cm woofers, two 8 cm midrange drivers and two 2.5 cm dome tweeters. Each set is carefully positioned inside the cabinet to mimic the way sound radiates from a real soundboard. The tweeters are paired with specially designed Waveguides that project bright, clear treble across the room for both players and listeners.
In addition to the main system, a dedicated 20 cm Spruce Cone speaker delivers rich low-end response. This utilises the same wood material found in Yamaha’s acoustic piano soundboards, which helps produce a more natural, piano-like tone. The cabinet also includes a Twisted Flare Port, which disperses bass frequencies more evenly and reduces unwanted resonance or distortion at higher volumes.
This entire setup is powered by a high-headroom amplifier system rated at 50 W + 50 W + 40 W per side. The result is a wide, balanced stereo image that fills the space, making it ideal for home use, teaching studios, or performance rooms. Whether you're playing quietly at night or filling a room with layered arrangements, the audio stays detailed, expressive and clear.
Compatible with iOS and Android, the Smart Pianist app helps you take full control of your piano. Adjust tones, styles and acoustic settings directly from your phone or tablet. The Audio to Score feature in the Smart Pianist app helps you start playing the music you love straight away, even if you don’t read notation. Just choose any audio file from your device’s music library, and the app will automatically analyse it to generate a chord chart. This means you can take a standard MP3 and quickly see what to play, matched to your skill level and pace.
It also works hand in hand with the Stream Lights built into the CSP 295GP. Once the chord chart is created, the lights above the keys show you which notes to play in real time. You can slow the tempo down, practise one hand at a time or pause the playback until you hit the correct chord. It’s a practical and fun way to learn by doing, using songs you already enjoy.
Audio to Score includes over 50 accompaniment styles to match the mood and feel of the song. Whether you're learning pop, jazz or classical tunes, this tool gives you a personalised way to build confidence and develop your playing without needing sheet music or formal training.
