Shakmat Time Wizard Overview
The Shakmat Time Wizard lets you cast spells on simple clock signals and transform them into experimental, time-warping and complex rhythms. Centered around a grid of six dividers with a switchable division factor and four switches, you are presented with a total of 81 different routing variations to manipulate and mangle your clock sequences. Time Wizard is unlike any other clock divider you've ever known. A sextuple divider, Time Wizard features a dedicated potentiometer to adjust the factor of division on the fly, with an activity LED per divider for visual feedback. Section A can multiply incoming clock signals by either three or four times before the signal is passed through to reach the dividers. By doing this, Time Wizard lets you easily create triplets or create extreme and experimental clock ratios, for example: Multiply by 4 and divide by 7 at the same time. Section B can receive its mater clock from the RST input or internally from divider B4. For further experimentation, there is a jumper on the back of the module that allows divider B5 and B6 to be switched from Triggers to Gates.
Time Wizard also features an auto-reset option which is triggered by divider B6. This can reset either section A or the full interface back to the first step without changing settings. Truly an expressive module, Time Wizard lets you dive into a world of unchartered territories where no two experiences are the same, making it the perfect choice for live performers looking to add interesting rhythmic passages into your set lists.
