Shape analog drums with ease
The Volca Beats focuses on the core elements of analog rhythm, giving you six essential drum sounds that are widely used in electronic music. Each voice is designed to offer strong presence and depth, helping your beats cut through dense arrangements.
Instead of overwhelming you with controls, it keeps things simple. You can adjust key parameters like pitch and decay to quickly move from tight, controlled hits to heavier, more resonant tones. This approach keeps your workflow fast and intuitive, so you spend more time creating and less time navigating menus.
Build patterns in a natural way
The 16-step sequencer is based on a familiar layout that encourages experimentation. You can enter steps visually, making it easy to see how your rhythm evolves across a bar. Real-time recording via the touch panel adds another layer of flexibility, letting you capture ideas as they come.
Up to eight patterns can be stored, so you can switch between ideas during a session or performance. It feels direct and responsive, which is especially useful when you want to sketch out grooves quickly or refine them on the fly.
Add movement to your performance
Performance features like stutter and step jump give you tools to reshape your beats instantly. The stutter function repeats triggers to create roll and delay-style effects, which can dramatically change the feel of a pattern.
You can even record these movements into your sequence for repeatable results. Active step and step jump functions let you remove or isolate steps during playback, creating shifting rhythms and unexpected variations. These controls make the Volca Beats feel less like a static drum machine and more like an instrument you actively play.
Connect and create anywhere
This unit is designed to fit easily into different setups. Sync in and out connections allow you to link multiple Volca units or compatible gear, keeping everything in time. MIDI input lets you control it from a keyboard or DAW, which is useful if you want to integrate analog sounds into a larger production environment.
At the same time, its compact size, built-in speaker, and battery operation make it a practical choice for portable use. You can sketch ideas on the move or set up a quick jam without extra equipment, giving you more freedom in how and where you create.
