Arturia has revolutionised the MiniFreak with an incredible update featuring eight new synthesis engines, pushing the boundaries of what this compact synthesiser can achieve. These additions bring exciting capabilities centred on sample playback and granular synthesis, elevating the MiniFreak’s already versatile sound design potential. Best of all, this update is completely free for existing MiniFreak owners and can be downloaded easily via the MiniFreak V updater.

Accompanying this release is the V3 Preset Pack, a curated collection of presets showcasing the power and flexibility of the new engines. It offers an expansive palette of sounds, inspiring musicians to explore uncharted creative territory. The new engines add unprecedented depth and versatility to the MiniFreak. The Sample engine provides a simple yet effective way to manipulate and loop samples, while Cloud Grains creates lush, atmospheric textures by scattering grains across the stereo field. Hit Grains generates rhythmic stutters and explosive bursts, perfect for adding punch to your tracks.

For more experimental sound design, Frozen delivers ethereal, sustained tones, while Skan stretches samples to extreme lengths, unlocking unconventional sonic landscapes. Particles layers intricate, randomised sound particles, offering hypnotic, psychedelic effects. The Lick engine introduces dynamic, tempo-synced rhythmic grooves, and Raster transforms sounds with effects like beat repeats and unpredictable rhythmic sequences.

Firmware 2.0 - Wavetable synthesis, new FX and much more!

With the introduction of firmware 2.0, the MiniFreak expands its sound design capabilities as well as incorporating new effects and a range of upgrades and enhancements. The powerful new wavetable engine comes complete with 32 factory wavetables and 64 patches, showcasing the raw and complex character of the wavetable engine. You can also shape your wavetables and change the timbre using the 'Pulse Width' and 'Filter' controls.

Great for spatial effects, the new 'Super Unison' effect is perfect for expand the stereo field of a sound, helping you to create huge, layered tones and sounds. The 'Shaper LFO' parameter has also been upgraded, allowing you to set the LFO rate of the entire 'Shaper' length, allowing you to create custom LFO shapes with ease. Clock and Transport connectivity also means you can sync the MiniFreak with other modular/audio gear. The favourites panel has also been upgraded, allowing you to quickly access any of the your 64 favourited presets.

The performance arpeggiator features intuitive controls with octave randomisation and ratcheting functions to keep your performances fresh. The MINIFREAK also comes mix-ready with stereo outputs for full-bodied and immersive sound quality.
