Orchestra Body

The Tanglewood Sundance Historic features an orchestra size body, offering comfort to players due to its compact size. Its smaller size is ideal for players that struggle with bigger bodied guitars, but don’t want to lose the extra projection and volume the bigger dreadnought shapes project. The Sundance’s dimensions enable the guitar to deliver a broad dynamic range, excellent low-end response, and a mighty voice for its size. Unlike other big-bodied guitars that require an aggressive attack to get the top end moving, the orchestra body is very responsive to a lighter touch, perfect for guitarists with a soft playing style.

Body Tonewoods

The Sundance Historic features a solid spruce top that yields a crisp and articulate tone, with a versatile characteristic that is able to accommodate numerous genres with ease. Its solid top also produces a broad dynamic range, and the wood itself is quite elastic in nature, which resonates well whilst remaining strong, and provides a focused, clear sound of deep lows, warm midi-range, and bright sparkling highs. The stunning solid top is paired with mahogany back and sides which delivers a meaty mid-range, producing punchy, woody tones with plenty of depth and complexity that will please most playing styles.

Mahogany Neck

Constructed from mahogany, the Sundance's neck offers players plenty of warmth and resonance. The mahogany neck also responds greatly to many different playing styles and techniques with ease, making it ideal for players of all styles. In addition, the neck is topped with a laurel fingerboard that adds a sonically pleasing warmth to the overall sound with a hint of bright-sizzle. Its laurel fingerboard also offers a smooth and energetic playing experience.

Fishman Sonitone

The Tanglewood Sundance Historic comes with an on-board Fishman preamp that is located in the sound-hole. Players can easily achieve the perfect tone using the rotary controls for volume and tone.

In addition to providing you with a beautiful tone and comfortable playing experience, the Sundance Electro-Acoustic is finished with a full host of ornate details that complete its traditional appearance.
