Three flexible bass preamp voices
The Simplifier Bass Master is built around three distinct preamp modes that cover a broad spread of bass tones and playing styles. Clean mode delivers articulate, open response for modern clarity and vintage warmth, while Comp mode introduces a naturally compressed character that works especially well for funk, slap, and controlled fingerstyle playing. Hot mode increases saturation and aggression for heavier rock, driven indie sounds, and modern grit. Combined with the pedal's dedicated Drive Mode and gain control, these preamp voices can move from subtle harmonic enhancement to thick, aggressive distortion without losing low-end definition or note clarity.
Detailed analogue cabinet simulation
The Bass Master's cabinet simulation section delivers realistic speaker response with extensive shaping controls designed specifically for bass frequencies. Three cabinet styles provide the foundation: 1 x 15-inch for rounded vintage warmth, 8 x 10-inch for punchy classic stack tones, and 4 x 10-inch for tighter, more balanced articulation. Beyond simple cab selection, the pedal also allows you to adjust cabinet porting for everything from sealed punch to more open low-end response. A dedicated speaker switch offers Warm, Bright, and Modern voicings, while tweeter level control helps fine-tune top-end presence for different instruments, techniques, and playback systems.
Advanced routing and effects integration
Designed to integrate into complex bass rigs, the Simplifier Bass Master features dual FX loops with highly flexible routing options. The pre-FX loop can be assigned to the preamp section, the parallel signal chain, or both simultaneously, making it easy to process separate paths without requiring external splitters. A bypassable parallel low-pass filter with 500Hz and 100Hz settings gives further control over blended signals and low-frequency management. This routing flexibility is especially useful for bassists combining clean low-end support with heavily processed effects, distorted upper frequencies, or multi-amp-style direct setups.
Built for stage, studio, and silent practice
The Simplifier Bass Master offers extensive connectivity for live performance, recording, and personal practice. Main and Parallel balanced XLR DI outputs allow separate signals to be sent directly to front of house, studio interfaces, or additional amplification systems, while dual TS outputs and onboard phase switching help integrate external rigs cleanly. A headphone output with dedicated level control and an auxiliary input make silent practice easy without sacrificing tone quality or feel. Add in ground lift switching for reducing unwanted hum and compatibility with standard 9-12V centre-negative power supplies, and the Bass Master becomes an exceptionally practical all-in-one bass solution.
