Despite the V6P's accessible price, the guitar is constructed with a quality alder body and maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. This tonewood combination lends the V6P a classic bright tonality with excellent resonance and sustain - perfect for blues, rock, country, funk, soul, and more. The iconic double cutaway design gives easy access to the top frets, so you'll have no problem reaching the top notes during solos, while the smooth body contours give a comfortable playing feel whether stood up or sat down. The flame cherry burst top and pearloid pickguard give a wonderful 'boutique' look that will stand out on any stage.
Compared with the V6P's vintage looks and tone, the neck features a modern 12'' fingerboard radius which provides excellent balance across the strings, along with the ability to set up a low string action with no risk of the strings "choking" when you play string bends. The slim neck sits easily in the left hand, while the low-profile neck joint and double cutaway assists with top-fret access for high range solos. This playability gives you the feel of a modern instrument with the looks and sounds of a classic guitar.
Like all Vintage guitars, the V6P features Trev Wilkinson-designed hardware, built on years of industry experience. The Wilkinson WVC vibrato bridge features a traditional 6-saddle design, made with bent-steel saddles and 6 screw pivots for full adjustability and a smooth action.
The bridge is complemented with Wilkinson WJ55 patented E-Z-Lok tuners, providing a simple locking action for quick and stable tuning. A graphite nut assists with tuning by providing a friction-free platform for the strings to pass over when bending strings and using the whammy bar.
The V6P is loaded with Wilkinson P90-style pickups which provide a slightly hotter tone than traditional single-coils, yet still retain some of the single-coil top-end brightness when compared to humbuckers. The pickups are a stacked design for noise-free performance- perfect for use on loud stages and in studios.
A 5-way switch provides access to a wide range of tones, with the P90 pickups taking a detour from the traditional sound of this style of guitar; the V6P can help you stand out from the crowd with a slightly-hotter than single-coil tone - perfect for blues, rock, country, and much more. These pickups make the most of the tonal potential from the V6P's open-sounding and resonant alder body, with a dynamic tone that brings out all the nuances of your playing and can traverse the genres.
The Guitar Magazine gave the V6P 8/10:
"An excellent array of sounds. Easy playing with a great set-up. High-end looks…
An excellent instrument for live performance and studio work, the V6P delivers a refined look, feel and sound that punches above its price point."
