AEG Body

With an AEG body, players can appreciate the comfort it provides, and the convenience of a Venetian cutaway. Its cutaway profile enables players to reach more challenging chords with ease, and allows for fluid playability across the full length of the fingerboard. The AEG body offers a comfortable playing experience due to its more compact size and nipped-in waist, resulting in easy playability. In addition, the Ibanez AEG1812II's AEG body delivers a well-balanced, yet powerful response to a wide range of genres and styles of play, but is particularly well-suited to folk-inspired genres and fingerstyle techniques.

Spruce & Sapele Construction

The Ibanez AEG1812II spruce top that yields crisp articulation and delivers a broad dynamic range, offering a versatile sound for players of any style. Its stunning spruce top has a clear and loud characteristic and is able to handle light fingerpicking to more aggressive strumming patterns with ease. The versatile spruce top is coupled with sapele back and sides which offers a consistently well-balanced sound, and holds similar tonal properties to mahogany. Although its tonal output is similar to mahogany, sapele has a higher density, enabling it to produce a brighter sound with more top-end shimmer. Together, the mixture of timbers offers a versatile sound that is able a please a diverse range of playing styles, providing players with a great all-purpose electro acoustic guitar.

Mahogany Neck & New Zealand Pine Fingerboard

Constructed from mahogany, the neck delivers a fat, warm sound with plenty of resonance. Due to the density of mahogany, it is less susceptible to warping, offering stability and durability. In addition, the neck is topped with a treated New Zealand pine fingerboard, adding plenty of top end to the overall sound.

Fishman Sonicore & Ibanez AEQ-SP2 Preamp

The Ibanez AEG1812II 2018 comes equipped with a Fishman Sonicore pickup, and an Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp with built-in tuner, making the AEG1812II perfect for live and rehearsal environments. The Fishman Sonitone pickup captures your acoustic's natural voice beautifully, clearly, and purely. The sound captured can then be tweaked via its on-board preamp which enables players to easily achieve the right tonal balance. In addition, the preamp features an on-board tuner, providing quick and easy tuning whilst on the go acoustically, or within amplified settings. Unlike standard bridge pins, the AEG1812II 2018 Electro Acoustic features advantage bridge pins, that are easier to take out and easier to put in. Each pin features a bulb shaped end, which is not only easy to grip, but also prevents the pin from being pushed in too far, for a reliable performance.
