Key Features
Product Ref: 94764
The Malekko Richter Oscillator II builds on the success of its predecessor, retaining all the functionality that make the original so sought after. The improvements to features and internal circuitry ensure the best possible audio performance and tonal characteristics. This exceptional sounding oscillator combines Fine and Coarse frequency controls with a volt per octave and CV frequency inputs, allowing you to generate a diverse range of sounds. The sound design possibilities are virtually endless thanks to the wide range of patch points and precision attenuator controls. In total, the Oscillator II provides you with four waveforms, with a dedicated output for each.
The integrated LFO features four waveforms in total including Sine Triangle, Square and Saw types. Each of the waveforms features its own output, with a second set of outputs dedicated to phase-modulated versions of the Triangle, Square and Saw waveforms. The phase-modulated versions of the waveforms can be controlled via the Phase control and Phase CV input with accompanying attenuator. When patching the outputs of the oscillator, you can achieve a range of sounds and functions resulting in varied modulation effects. The LFO control switch allows you to trigger low-range, triggering the Oscillator to become a phase-modulated LFO. From this you can toggle the second set of outputs to a 90 degree offset, using the external inverters for a full quadrature output.
The versatile design of the Richter Oscillator II module means it is ideal for a range of applications from sound design to experimentation. One of the most unique ways you can use this module is to modulate another oscillator’s frequency, sending the modulated oscillator’s output to the original Phase Modulation input to provide you with a Phase-Mod-Synced FM. The pure warmth the oscillator generates makes it ideal for creating a varied palette of sounds. The faceplate’s design is highly ergonomic, providing an easy-to-use layout that allows you to create sounds on the fly with ease. There are 11 patch points in total, with a dedicated LFO button as well a s a Sync output. The retro-style attenuators provide optimal precision when dialling in your levels.
