Key Features
Dark, controlled tones. The Sabian AA 16'' Chinese Cymbal provides a light, trashy tone that blends in. The overall character is medium-pitch, but there's a bite of bright overtones. It responds quickly; sounds trashy and has a controlled sound with a quick decay for quick accents.
Made using the same traditional methods as other AA cymbals, the Sabian AA 16'' Chinese Cymbal is a responsive, trashy china with a more blended tone, making it ideal for studio use and less aggressive styles of music.

The Sabian AA 16'' Chinese Cymbal is crafted using Sabian's measured B20 bronze recipe, consisting of 80% copper, 20% tin, and traces of silver. This is widely used on higher-end cymbals for its versatile frequency range, making it the ideal material for all types of cymbal.
Built using modern and traditional techniques, the Sabian AA series is both versatile and full of character. Traditional coarse lathing is applied by Vault Craftsmen, which is one contributing factor to the vintage tone offered by AA cymbals. High-profile shaping raises the pitch, giving AA cymbals more cut, while further small-peen hammering increases stick response. The result is cymbals that offer a vintage inspired sound with enough cut for versatile, modern use.
At the end of the rigorous manufacturing process, the Sabian AA Chinese cymbal is hand-tested and hand-weighed by cymbal Vault specialists. It is then placed on a shelf to age, giving the molecules time to settle down and stabilise. The cymbal is then, once again hand-tested by two Vault specialists to ensure it meets the specification required for the Sabian AA 16'' Chinese Cymbal.
